These champagne truffles are the house speciality and the best known product of Zurich-based chocolatier Teuscher. They were invented by Adolf Teuscher Sr. in 1947 and are a real treat. According to legend, he dreamt of champagne buckets he had seen a day earlier and that's how he came up with the idea of making truffles with champagne. The recipe became a tremendous success and has never been changed. It's a blend of fresh cream, butter and chocolate with a champagne cream centre. Teuscher is still family-run today and you can find their original store on Storchengasse.
