Napa Grill is located in a brick house of the former Hürlimann brewery and dedicated to US prime beef cooked on a wood-fired grill and wine from the Napa Valley in California. We chose the spicy gazpacho with crab legs for a starter, a spicy opening to a pleasant evening. As a main we picked the porterhouse steak, a US-cut that includes part of the tenderloin fillet, and received a juicy, flavour-packed piece of meat grilled medium rare, just as ordered. The grilled vegetables on the side were also cooked perfectly. Thankfully, our friendly waiter was happy to share his extensive knowledge with US-wine novices like us who had a difficult time navigating the vast wine list. After three different tasters, we selected a Pott 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in our price range (85Sfr) and were won over by its full-bodied flavour and soft tannins.
