Volgograd

Parks

share
There are plenty of parks in Volgograd, but not all of them are the lush green areas you would assume. The Central Park of Culture and Recreation is as clunky as the name suggests, while walking fans will have more luck with Victory Park or the suspiciously named Volgograd-Baku Friendship Park. There is also a decent park named after Sasha Filipov, the young communist spy who was murdered by the Nazis after being captured during the war. The street in which young Sasha grew up now bears his name.
